I also have a overheating issue and my wireless seems to shut down whenever it feels like it and i have to use the trouble shooter to get it to work again. Open windows Control Panel and open Mouse – click the Device Settings tab, select the Synaptics device and you should have the option to Disable or Turn Off the touchpad. I have a compaq Presario 57 and have done this repeatedly all you do is double tap the dip in the upper left corner of the pad itself not the light, this vompaq turn it off and since it is disabled it wont turn it back on.
